A short teaser clip before we get around to work through all the footage...
After 8 hours, 6 minutes. It's all over. Finally! Time for a much deserved beer.
May have jumped the gun earlier. The past hour and a half have been choppy and very challenging. We're dealing with winds and chop, causing sea sickness and delays. Hoping to finish in the next 30 minutes!
We've made it to the Hudson River. This is the last of the 3 rivers. We are approaching the George Washington Bridge with about 2 hours 15 minute to go.
3 hours and 10 minutes in, still going strong
One hour in and he's having his first feeding. Going strong.
We began about 30 minutes ago. We've just passed the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. Approaching the Williamsburg bridge next.
We're on the water, ready to go , waiting for the swim to start.
Perfect day for a swim.
SWIM START: 8:37am at Pier A, up the East River, through the Harlem River, down the Hudson.
SWIM FINISH: 4:08pm at Pier A (for a more detailed breakdown, see here.)
The best way to watch the race is follow my GPS Tracker and join me for my last 30 minutes of swimming as of North Cove.
After the Race, I will get on my support boat to go up to Pier 25 where I will get off and recover, get a snack, maybe a massage.
Following that, everybody gathers at Southwest NY at 301 Southend Ave (corner of Albany St)
Best way to get in touch is to use the contact form of this site. Stacey will make sure to respond.
On August 1st, the crew aboard the support boat will be posting regular updates, live from the river.
If you like to follow my progress, check back here on August 1st.
The swim is planned to begin at 8.45am at Pier A in Battery Park. It is projected to take 8 hours to complete.
